Den Wall
Photo of Den wall showing bookcases and fireplace front and mantle. All woodwork is red oak finished with Minwax Golden Oak stain. All woodwork, including molding, was also finished from rough lumber using a variety of tools, saws, planer, jointer, miter saw, disc sander, etc. Fireplace front is from 12 inch square marble tiles.

Planter Box
This is a planter box and garden bench I made for my wife.

Hall Bench
This is a take off of Todd Clonninger's hall bench.  It is made with flame birch and mahogany.  While Todd built his bench on "eye appeal" and using some of the common rules in design, my hall bench is based on the "Golden Section" rule of 1:1.618 ratios.  This is similar to the Fibonacci scale (1:1.619 ratio) that could have been used instead.

For a short discussion of these two rules for proportions, visit http://www.ehow.com/list_7429417_woodworker_s-rules-proportions.html
